IF you are a teacher, aide, instructor, counselor, or principal, and worked in a school at least 900 hours during the school year. Only grade school and high school educators qualify (K through 12th grade).

This was one of the expired tax deductions that has been renewed. Now, if you qualify, you can still get the $250 deduction and if husband and wife both qualify, it's $ 500. You have to work as and educator for the requied number of hours to qualify.
