DELAYED TAX BREAK FOR TEXAS SENIORS

-Texas senior citizens have their school taxes frozen, so property tax relief that applied to younger taxpayers did not benefit seniors--their school taxes neither went up or down, but county and other ad valorem taxes, in many cases, increased. So while everyone else saw taxes go down, seniors were left out in the cold.
The Texas Governor recently proposed NEW LEGISLATION to correct this unintended consequence.
